Who We Are

The Story

The Toronto Climbing Club (TCC) is a grassroots community of climbers who love getting outside, sharing beta, and meeting new people. We're not a guide company or a professional organization — we're a collective of climbers who organize outdoor meetups, carpool to local crags, and support each other on and off the wall.

Whether you're new to climbing or have been projecting for years, TCC is a place to find partners, build community, and explore the climbs around Toronto together.

    Founder & Lead

I first saw a rock climbing wall in college and was fascinated—the height and holds felt daunting, but watching others climb with ease was inspiring. I remember trying it in sneakers since the wall didn’t have rental shoes, only later learning how much they help after forcing my way up some 5.8s and .9s. After moving to Toronto, I struggled to find fellow climbers. There were groups, but no real climbing clubs—so I started one. I wanted to help newcomers connect and create a community for existing climbers. Rattlesnake Point and Mount Nemo are classic Toronto crags, but Metcalfe's spectacular climbs and views make it my favourite!

Hey, I’m Amir! I’ve been climbing for about 2.5 years, bouldering is my favourite type. As the Business Coordinator, I’m excited to help TCC grow and am looking forward to contributing organizing community events, competitions, and helping make climbing more accessible to everyone! Outside of climbing, I have a background in neuroscience and data science, which is maybe why I love the problem-solving aspect of climbing!

Hey all! I’ve been climbing since 2018, and have been lucky enough to climb and be welcomed into climbing communities in many countries. I had long dreamed of climbing outdoors in Ontario, but without a car or much gear, it didn’t feel possible—until I joined the TCC community! I love that no matter where I am, climbing brings together the best people. That’s why I’m thrilled to help spread the TCC’s name and messaging to reach more climbers across the GTA—and beyond!

    Outdoor Coordinator

I’ve been climbing since I was young, but only recently joined the TCC in 2024 after moving back to Ontario. I quickly took on a role in organizing outdoor meets, helping members get outside and on the rock. Now, I’m focused on creating more training and hands-on workshop opportunities to give climbers the tools they need to reach new heights. If there’s a way to make climbing more accessible and safe, I am always ready to chalk up a plan! And my number one climbing tip? “Just do the splits!”
