Who We Are

The Story

The Toronto Climbing Club (TCC) is a grassroots community of climbers who love getting outside, sharing beta, and meeting new people. We're not a guide company or a professional organization — we're a collective of climbers who organize outdoor meetups, carpool to local crags, and support each other on and off the wall.

Whether you're new to climbing or have been projecting for years, TCC is a place to find partners, build community, and explore the climbs around Toronto together.

    Founder & Lead

I first saw a rock climbing wall in college and was fascinated—the height and holds felt daunting, but watching others climb with ease was inspiring. I remember trying it in sneakers since the wall didn’t have rental shoes, only later learning how much they help after forcing my way up some 5.8s and .9s. After moving to Toronto, I struggled to find fellow climbers. There were groups, but no real climbing clubs—so I started one. I wanted to help newcomers connect and create a community for existing climbers. Rattlesnake Point and Mount Nemo are classic Toronto crags, but Metcalfe's spectacular climbs and views make it my favourite!

Tech sales guy who’s always intrigued by climbing. My first rendezvous was back in India when I saw a few expats bouldering on rocks. A few years later, Mateo introduced me to climbing at a downtown Toronto gym, and I've been hooked since then. I love climbing for the problem-solving aspect and the thrill. At TCC, I believe in building community and collaborating with brands. If you feel synergy and would like to associate with us, give us a shout at torontoclimbingclub@gmail.com, and as we love to say at TCC, keep going up!

I’ve been climbing since I was young, but only recently joined the TCC in 2024 after moving back to Ontario. I quickly took on a role in organizing outdoor meets, helping members get outside and on the rock. Now, I’m focused on creating more training and hands-on workshop opportunities to give climbers the tools they need to reach new heights. If there’s a way to make climbing more accessible and safe, I am always ready to chalk up a plan! And my number one climbing tip? “Just do the splits!”
